Witchcraft and YouTube
In the past, if you wanted to get information on witchcraft you had to search for a book that had both good information and whatever subject you were actually looking for, or you had to find a teacher who was willing to teach you what you wanted to know. Both of those things are still great options, don’t get me wrong! I will always encourage people to read as many good books as they can get their hands on, and a teacher that is knowledgeable and that you trust can be absolutely invaluable! But like so many things in our modern world, the internet has stepped in to become a resource that makes everyone’s lives so much better! Social media has stepped up to the plate, and even though you should always do your research on anything you hear on sights like Tumbler and TikTok, they can be a great resource for new witches and a source of inspiration for seasoned witches.
Personally, YouTube has become one of my favorites. It’s a great place to learn new witchy things and to get different perspectives on subjects that I think I know in and out! And it can be really nice when you follow a witchy youtuber and you get to know them and their style of witchcraft, you start to know where to go when looking for specific information and content.
These YouTubers are creators that I love watching for all their glorious witchy content! They range in backgrounds, age, experience, and so on. But they are all definitely worth checking out! And so, in no particular order!
Harmony Nice might be one of the best known YouTube witches on the platform. Her content tends to revolve around Wicca specifically, but she has a lot of information that a witch of any practice could use. She also has more chat style videos where she discusses different topics both about witchcraft as well as completely unrelated topics. I think the reason Harmony is so popular and easy to watch is because her content is diverse and she does talk a lot about herself and her own journey in witchcraft and wicca. And she comes off as very authentic. Definitely a great channel for any witch, but especially beginner witches. She’s also written a book, Wicca: A Modern Guide to Witchcraft and Magick, which has a lot of practical information not only about wicca but for witches in general.
2. Hearth Witch
Hearth makes a ton of witchy content! She makes videos ranging form deity work and explanations about astrology to practical spell how to’s and different kinds of divination methods. Her channel has kind of the feel of your witchy friend who knows way more than you do and is willing to walk you through. Her videos are super informative and her aesthetic is beautiful. What more could you want? Also, if you’re in the UK or Europe then she has a shop with a lot of fantastic witchy supplies, oils, and candles.
Olivia, or the witch of wonderlust, has an absolutely beautiful aesthetic in her videos. The shots, lighting, composition are just *Italian chef kiss* beautiful. Olivia herself has a very calming vibe and her videos are perfect for a relaxed exploration of different topics. And on top of that she has fantastic videos that are super informative on different aspects of witchcraft. She also often has witchy guests that help expand the conversation and give different perspective.
4. Mintfaery
Mint practices a very eclectic form of witchcraft and I love it! As her name might suggest, she works a lot with the fae, which I will admit isn’t an area that I know a lot about. She does a lot of spell tutorials using that aspect, and it is super interesting as someone who doesn’t work with them! She also talks about issues within the witchcraft community on occasion, and her takes are always very well thought out and get me to think. Her energy is high and always makes me want to get up and do some magic!
5. Mama Squirrel’s Witchy Wisdom
Mama Squirrel is the witch mom you wish you had. Her channel has a lot more long format videos, mostly in the form of streams. She talks about tarot, and interviews other witchy people and it’s all very grounded and has the vibe of a family discussion. But the thing that got me watching and that I could binge watch for way longer than I should are her thrift store hauls. Mama Squirrel has done many thrift store hauls where she shows off what she picked up and tells you how she plans on using it. It’s fun to watch, and she brings up creative ways to use things that I never would have thought about in terms of witchcraft. It gets the creative juices flowing and is always an endless source of inspiration.
If cottage core is you’re thing, then I would like to introduce you to Annabel, the green witch. Seriously, these videos are like stepping into the exact picture of “green witch in a cottage in the forest”. And with all of that comes a very different form of witchcraft. Annabel does a lot of videos on witchcraft that is much more centered around the home and doing witchcraft with the tools around you. There’s a lot of focus on herbs, baking, and simple witchcraft. The energy is very calm and relaxing and even though it’s far and away from my normal kind of magic, there is an elegance to it that I will always love. Seriously, if being a cottage witch is you’re ultimate goal in life, I can’t recommend you check out her channel enough.
So you want to learn how to mix oils, or make incense, or other crafty things for your magic? Then may I direct your attention to Witch, Please! This channel has about a hundred videos dedicated to different recipes for inks and incense and candles and more! And Odin the host has a fun, no nonsense attitude that draws you in for the ride. They also apply that same attitude towards different issues that they think are important and that affect the witch community and have straight talk discussions. If that’s your vibe, or if you are looking for oil blend recipes, Odin is the one to ask.
This is definitely a newer channel, especially when compared with a lot of others on this list. But although Nike has only been posting for a few months, she’s already made a big impression. Her videos are pretty and her personality is very approachable and laid back. So far, she’s done a few different types of videos ranging form things like witchy vlogs and subject discussions to practical how to’s on different spells. So far a lot of the topics on her channel are pretty common over a lot of witchy channels, but she does have some new and interesting topics, like digital witchcraft and spiritual burnout. I’m definitely excited about keeping an eye on her, and so far I’m excited by what’s there.
9. TigeraGitana
Some of the first videos I came across from Abbey (TigeraGitana) was her witchy dollar store haul videos and I loved the inspiration for creativity in my craft that that lead to! But she’s got so much more going on on her channel. Abbey’s channel is very community and interaction heavy, like the weekly healing circle stream that she does for a few hours every week, and the monthly charka healing card reading that she does for each astrology sign every month. On top of all of that she has many videos on practical witchcrafts, dollar tree spells, witchy dollar tree hauls, and a few other video types.ย And Abbey herself is a fun personality is a lot of fun to watch!
10. Simply Witchery
Simply Witchery is another small channel that I absolutely love. Lethe is soft spoken, but very knowledgeable when they make their videos. There is a lot of focus on tarot decks and they do a sign element reading every month and deck reviews that are always really insightful. They also do have a few videos on different aspects of witchcraft. But what makes their videos a little different is that they tend to make videos about more obscure topics like dice divination or using enamel pins in their craft. They’re a very small channel in the wider YouTube verse, but definitely one to keep an eye on and enjoy!
Like I said, there’s no substitution for books and a good teacher. Witchcraft has a long tradition of doing your own research and community in your own area. But tech can work as a small part of your journey and YouTubers can act as jumping off points for your research. Or they can be a part of the place where you find that community, especially if that is somewhat lacking in your area.
And that’s not to say that once you follow and like one of these creators, you have to agree with everything they say. There are several creators on this list that I disagree with on certain topics within the craft. But they are still great resources both for the things I will actually use, as well as learning about different perspectives.
But there’s no reason not to use the resources that technology has given us! Witches use what theyโve got at their disposal, and what we have is the internet.
Tell me in the comments who some of your favorite witchy YouTubers are! I’m always looking for new witches to support!
Iโve never been a huge fan of youtube but Iโm bookmarking this and checking out these vloggers. Thank you for the list! Iโm so excited to find witchy blogs to follow.
